ヴァランドローの血統の一つ「クロ・バドン」!

1998年にジャン・リュック・テュニュヴァンの手に渡って間もなく、テュニュヴァン氏の妻ミュリエルが指揮をとる生産スタッフチームの管理下に置かれました。農園はサンテミリオンのコミューン内にあり、シャトー・パヴィとシャトー・ラルシ・デュカスの間、シャトー・カノン・ラ・ガフリエールと同等の領域に位置しています。

シンデレラワインの代名詞的存在といえば、「ヴァランドロー」。ヴァランドローの輝ける成功後もルーション地方に畑を購入して新ブランドを立ち上げたり、既存シャトーの技術コンサルタントとして活躍するなど、常に新たな課題に挑んでいます。近年のサン・テミリオンの新格付けにおいては、グラン・クリュのヴァランドローが「グラン・クリュ・クラッセ」を飛び越し、いきなり「プルミエ・グランクリュ・クラッセに昇格したことでも大いに話題を呼びました。

「クロ・バドン」は、シャトー・パヴィとラルシス・デュカスの畑の間に位置するシャトーで、1998年がファースト・ヴィンテージ。ラベルのニワトリのモデルは、実際にテュヌヴァン氏が自宅で飼っていたニワトリだったそうで、友人から食用として贈られたものの情が移って食べられず、ずっと可愛がっていたのだとか。

The 2020 Clos Badon Thunevin displays a deep purple-black color and expressive scents of licorice, black olives and tar over a core of ripe plums, boysenberries and blackberry preserves.
